Drake in 3 words: Outgoing, Compassionate, Confident
Drake McKay is a dedicated athlete whose passion for sports shines through his involvement in school soccer, the Jackson Soccer Club, and church league basketball. His love for competition and teamwork fuels his biggest dream of becoming a professional soccer player. At the same time, Drake is considering careers in medical sales or as an anesthesiologist, reflecting both his ambition and his interest in serving others.
Drake’s mom is the most inspiring person in his life. Her work ethic, loving nature, and faith in God set an example that motivates him daily. She wakes up each morning with a smile, putting God first and demonstrating the values she hopes to pass on to her children.
In addition, Drake credits his Young Life leader, Henry Pricey, as his most impactful mentor. Because Henry is closer in age, he connects well with students and guides them through faith with authenticity and passion. His example of being “on fire for the Lord” has helped Drake and his friends strengthen their own spiritual lives.
After high school, Drake plans to attend college full time while working part time. He describes himself as outgoing, compassionate, and confident. He values the closeness of his community, where everyone knows one another, and he admires how the people of Jackson come together during times of hardship.
In his role, Drake sees himself as a team member with specific tasks, a promoter, and a behind-the-scenes coordinator. Whether working in the spotlight or supporting from behind it, he is committed to helping his community thrive.
“I feel like I am always able to tell if someone is upset or not happy and I'm able to cheer them up quick. I am also someone who is always able to have fun in a situation.”
