Elizabeth in 3 words: Empathetic, Cooperative, and Affectionate

Elizabeth Martinez is an active student-athlete who plays soccer and hopes to also join flag football, reflecting her love for teamwork and competition. Her career interests are wide-ranging, from becoming an architect to working as an accountant, but at the core of her aspirations is a strong desire to help people and be remembered for making a positive difference.

Elizabeth’s greatest inspiration is her mom, whose resilience and strength deeply shape her outlook on life. Despite facing many difficult moments, her mom continues to radiate joy and support, providing Elizabeth with advice, encouragement, and laughter. Their relationship is more than just mother and daughter—it is also a friendship that Elizabeth treasures. She also credits Coach Plunk as her most influential teacher and mentor, someone who inspires her both on and off the field with wisdom and encouragement.

After high school, Elizabeth plans to attend college full time while working part time to build her future. She describes herself as empathetic, cooperative, and affectionate. Growing up in South Jackson, she values the closeness of her community, where neighbors and classmates have shared experiences since elementary school. She also appreciates the resources Jackson provides, like financial aid workshops that help students plan for their futures.

In her community role, Elizabeth sees herself as a behind-the-scenes coordinator, strategy setter, negotiator, and team member with specific tasks. She enjoys working with others to organize, support, and solve problems, always motivated by her care for people. With her compassion, cooperation, and drive, Elizabeth is ready to continue building a strong future for herself and her community.

“I think my role is to work behind the scenes, set strategies, and be a team member who helps make things happen. I also appreciate how Jackson provides resources like financial aid workshops to help students prepare for the future.”
