Nathan Reed is an active student-athlete whose year is filled with sports—golf in the fall, church league basketball in the winter, and tennis in the spring. His love for athletics, especially golf, fuels his dream of one day playing on the PGA Tour or even owning a golf course. Alongside sports, he is also interested in pursuing a career in engineering, blending his passions for precision and problem-solving.
Faith plays a central role in Nathan’s life. He names Jesus as the most inspiring figure because of the sacrifice He made on the cross, which guides Nathan’s values and purpose. He also credits his father as a daily source of inspiration, setting a godly example and offering advice and encouragement when challenges arise.
Nathan identifies Mr. Fugate, his teacher, as one of the most impactful people in his education. Mr. Fugate’s warmth and positivity, especially early in the morning, have shown Nathan the importance of approaching each day with energy and gratitude.
After high school, Nathan plans to attend college full time while working part time. He describes himself as laid back, observant, and outgoing—someone who loves being around others and forming new friendships. Nathan values the wide range of job opportunities in Jackson, which strengthen the community and fuel its growth. He also admires how quickly Jackson takes on challenges and works to address them.
In his community role, Nathan sees himself as a negotiator, promoter, and team member with specific tasks—someone who enjoys bringing people together and working collaboratively to accomplish goals.
“Im very optimistic, so when something goes wrong I don't sulk my head or turn my back. I keep seeing it through till it is finished.”
